Admin setup · ~2 minutes, once.
Requires permission to install apps in your Slack workspace. After this, the whole team can ask.

Add the app to Slack
Open the install link and click Allow.

Create an API key
In Time Machine (web.timeml.ai) go to Settings → API Keys, create a key, and copy it (shown once). Tip: name it “Slack”.

Connect & pick a default Expert
In any Slack channel (responses are visible only to you):
/tm-setup token <your_api_key>
/tm-setup expert Your Expert Name
Optional: /tm-setup status · /tm-setup test · /tm-setup clear to disconnect.
Good to know
- Answers take a few seconds while the Expert searches your knowledge base; each reply is signed with the Expert name and timing.
- Each question is standalone — include full context (up to 8,000 characters).
- One connection per workspace; re-run
/tm-setup tokenanytime to rotate keys. - If you see “workspace is not connected,” an admin still needs step 3 above.
